Herts AGM 2016-17

The Annual AGM was held at the Salisbury Arms Hotel in Hertford on Friday 14th July. The main points of the meeting are as follows:

1. Mike Price reported that the finances are in decline due to a drop in Vice Presidents and losses from the county teams. As a result VP frees were increased to £10 (from £7.50) and the club affilliation fee from £10 to £20.

2. Two motions were passed - AGM proposals now need a seconder, and the proposal deadline has been extended from May 1st to June 1st.

Several Officers Retired:

Malcolm Harding stepped down as president after 5 years service, to be replaced by Chris Majer.

U160 Captain is now Mark Heffer, with Mike Price still performing co-ordination duties with Mark captaining on the day in Newmarket.

U140 captain is now Sanjay Vig

Sadly the open team will not run for another year due to lack of a captain.

The Herts closed competition organiser also stood down, however if a venue could be found, it's possible that the competition could be resurrected with better promotion on the website and direct emails to the Herts members.

The Herts congress is also in jeopardy due to the lack of a suitable venue (at a sensible cost) - research is ongoing. Minutes to follow in due course
